Real plague on our beaches, in our rivers and our oceans, the single-use plastic bottle is not a solution, even when traveling. To go from plastic bottles to reusable containers, Surfrider presents through an original tour of Europe to discover water fountains and positive initiatives to no longer get thirsty.
Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, France, let’s go for a ride!
In Europe, no less than 52 billion liters of water are bottled and consumed every year. It represents 110L per person and the equivalent in quantity of bottles. Canteens, meanwhile, are cheaper (Bottled water is, on average, 100 to 300 times more expensive than tap water) and reduce our impact on the environment by lowering our plastic consumption.
Through this European tour in 5 different countries, Surfrider aims to educate citizens on simple tips to travel and fight plastic bottles at the same time.

To be efficient in the fight against single-use plastic, in one hand we need to change our habits, but on the other hand we also need to speak about it to increase awareness around us: at home, at work, or just between friends.
One of Surfrider’s main mission is the education of citizens, and aware them about environmental issues. Surfrider does it on a daily basis via its headquarters based in Biarritz, its 29 chapters throughout Europe and on different event organized by the NGO. It represents more than 10,000 people, from school pupils to retire people, per year. In order to get a stronger impact with our actions we need to reach more people!
